Why protect a construction site?
Each year, the UK construction industry faces losses of around £800 million due to vandalism and theft, as reported by insurers Allianz Cornhill.
Their findings highlight that these substantial losses primarily stem from the costs of replacing stolen or damaged items, lost business, and increased insurance premiums.
Theft – According to the Chartered Institute of Building’s 2016 study on crime in the construction industry, 21% of the 1,100 construction professionals surveyed reported experiencing theft during the week of the survey. Even more alarming, 92% of respondents reported being victims of theft annually, with many experiencing it on a weekly or monthly basis.
Vandalism – The same study revealed that 91% of participants had been victims of vandalism. While fences and locks can deter casual intruders, to protect against more determined criminals and prevent significant damage to equipment, the presence of a CCTV tower is crucial.
Our approach
Assessment – We personally assess each new site to ensure that we provide the most effective coverage based on our expert evaluation.
Implementation – One of our Area Service Managers will meet with you to address any specific concerns, establish a patrol route, and determine a schedule for the security guards. Together, you’ll identify key landmarks along the route, which our officers will photograph as they patrol to provide real-time updates on the condition of your site.
Reporting – We meticulously document every step of our construction security guards’ patrol route and provide daily reports on our observations and findings.

Job-specific assignments
The initial step for any manned guarding contract on a construction project is for one of our experienced security team members to visit and thoroughly assess your site. Following this, we provide a detailed report, from which a tailored, site-specific set of assignment instructions is created for our security guards.
Detailed record keeping
Our security guards will carefully document all data while carrying out the agreed, site-specific tasks. Any potential incidents or concerns are recorded in the relevant logbook and time-stamped accordingly.
